Rob van Hattum (1955) has been making radio and television programs about science and technology for 25 years. His television programs have received several awards including the Boy Trip Award for best Dutch Science Film and the Medaille d’Or at the Parma Scientific Film Festival. He has worked as a science reporter for different news and current affairs programs. Since 1994 he is working as a documentary filmmaker and editor-in-chief for the Dutch Public Broadcaster VPRO. Currently he is making documentaries for Backlight (Tegenlicht). One of his last productions was a documentary about longevity research and the search for eternal life. Alongside his duties for the VPRO, he is Content Director of NEMO, the hands-on Science Center in Amsterdam. From 1999-2003 he was also president of the Science Journalists’ Association of The Netherlands. Rob
van Hattum (1955) houdt zich al zo'n 25 jaar bezig met het maken van radio-
en televisieprogramma's over wetenschap en technologie. Zijn televisieprogramma's
werden verschillende malen onderscheiden: Beste Nederlandse Wetenschaps
Film; de Boy Trip Award; Medaille D'Or (Wetenschappelijk Filmfestival
Parma). Hij werkte in het verleden voor rubrieken als Brandpunt, Horizon
